Brownies

These brownies are a chocolate lovers dream. I made these for a Super Bowl Party we had. This recipe makes a sheet pan of chocalatey deliciousness. Top these brownies with caramel sauce and…oh my. MMMmmm. By the Way these are not low calorie, but totally worth it. Just saying.

  • 1 lb. butter
  • 1 lb, plus 12 oz. chocolate chips
  • 7 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee granules
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 c honey
  • 1 c maple syrup
  • 1 c paleo all-purpose flour (see website)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 c chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans), optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees .

Grease 12 x 18 x 1 baking sheet.

Melt together the butter, 1 lb. of chocolate chips in a medium bowl over simmering water. Set aside.

In a large bowl, stir together eggs, coffee granules, vanilla, honey and maple syrup. Stir the warm chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and allow to cool to room temperature.

In a medium bowl sift together flour, baking powder, salt and nuts. Add to the chocolate mixture.  Add 12 oz of chocolate chips. Pour into the baking sheet.

Bake for 20 minutes, then rap the baking sheet against the oven shelf to let the air to escape  from between the pan and brownie mixture. Bake for about 15 more minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Do not overbake. Share. Eat. Enjoy.
